How to make a difference - PLEASE contribute to our new Mower Fund!

North Landing Community,

As you know, since the Lake was lowered, we now have a beautiful lake bed full of grass that has to be mowed. In order to keep it looking great, we have seven volunteers that will help with the mowing; however, we only have one heavy-duty mower.

Just to remind everyone, it cost us over $10,000 per year to mow the main areas in the front, around the clubhouse, and the dam. The lake bed is not included in that amount. We cannot afford to pay a company to mow any additional areas.

With the Corona Virus putting a hold on everything and NLHA funds low for the year, I’m hoping that the people of our great community will step up and help keep the lake as beautiful as it is today.

So, I am reaching out to the community to try and raise enough money to purchase a second riding mower. The cost will be around $2000. Now that we have a shed, it will be stored safely and will be available for the volunteers to use as needed.

A Message from Ed on Membership

First, I would like to take the time to thank everyone who signed up as a member this past year.  We had a very successful year with 134 Members, Not including Disc Golfers, who started signing up early for 2020.

In order to be fair to all paying members, the following must be adhered to:

2020 Membership will begin March 1, 2020.

Memberships Include: (Full, Associate, Disc Golf and Senior Discount).

The Price Remains the Same as last year. Full $380, Associate $210, and Disc Golf $50. Seniors will continue to receive the Discount. Their total will be $190.

Disc Golf members over 65 are NOT discounted.

There are some Seniors, and Full paying members, that have been taking advantage of the HOA.

Each Paying Membership includes 2 Adults!!! Both Names must be on the membership form. If it has changed please notify us.

The Senior Discount is for Seniors only!! We’ve had several issues with Seniors signing up and allowing adult children to use their badge. This will end!!

“If any of the 2 members listed, are under the age of 65 they must pay the Full membership fee”.

(Examples would be: Member and Spouse over 65 is Discounted.

Member over 65,  and 1 other adult child over 65 is also Discounted.

Member over 65, and the other adult is under 65, IS NOT DISCOUNTED!)

PLEASE DO NOT DECEIVE US!

Full paying members may have ONE other adult as a member! If there are additional adults in the household, they are not members! They can be considered a guest, but a member must be present, for a guest to be at the pool.

Disc Golf membership DOES NOT include another person. But a badged member may bring 1 Guest, but the member must be present. Disc Golf is NOT allowed use of any other amenity!

Payment Plan is available  If anyone wishes to make up to 3 payments, they may do so. Payments are due 1 March 1st, April 1st and May 1st. You MUST be paid in full to use the Pool.

Children under 16 must have an adult member present at all times.

Pool hours will be strictly enforced this year! 11pm EVERYONE must be off the premises. There can be a Pool Party after 11pm, but must be approved by the HOA President in advance. Noise ordinances apply!

Accidents happen!! There is NO Glass inside the pool fence! BUT, If someone breaks glass, or a child has a accident in the Pool, notify me ASAP. If I don’t know about it right away, it can be costly, and cause the pool to close for extended periods.

Smoking will be limited to the red area, and at the grass behind the red area!

New Locks will be applied to the Pool and Tennis on March 1st. The cost is significant! It will cost nearly $500 to rekey all locks. All keys from previous years “ MUST BE RETURNED”.  A New Key will be issued.

You will not receive new keys, until the old keys are returned. There will be a $10 charge for any lost or unreturned keys.

If you are on the property, you must have your badge with you!!! I will be asking people to leave, if your badge is not on you!

ALL Members” have the right to ask for a badge!! Anyone harassing a member will be dealt with accordingly.

The Membership Goal for this year is 140, please talk to your friends and neighbors. Every membership helps improve our community.

Thank You, and I hope we have another great year!

Board & Committee Members Wanted

We are looking for additional Board Members and Committee Members! If you are interested in volunteering to support and improve our community, please contact Ed at NorthlandinghoaPresident@gmail.com.
You do not have to live in North landing to volunteer!!

North Landing now has: Pool, Tennis, Lake/Fishing, Horseshoes, Camp Ground, and Disc Golf. We also have large grassy areas to play other sports. We are looking for volunteers to give a couple hours per month to help maintain and improve our community. As you know the value of our homes is climbing every day. The appearance of our common spaces is critical to keeping the value moving in the upward direction.

This is NOT your standard HOA! We are made of volunteers helping maintain and improve our community. We make it welcome to anyone who wants to move here, or simply become a member. We “DO NOT” get involved in how you run your personal property. (Local Codes will be enforced, if necessary!)

Help needed with:
Grounds Board Member: Oversee Grounds Maintenance, Maintain Grounds equipment, and ensure that the grounds are always presentable. Come up with ideas to improve. This is a Board Position

Disc Golf Committee: Monitor Installation status, Oversee any issues with the course and equipment. Would like to set up a 2-3-person Committee.

Lake Bed Lawn Care: Since the Lake has been lowered. We have the grass and brush to maintain around the lake. (not including Dam). We already have some volunteers who mow this area. We basically need someone to run the schedule. Addition help mowing is also a plus. Lawn Equipment is now available, so you need to provide nothing but time.

Lake and Dam Committee: Oversee any issues with the lake. Take Quarterly Readings and keep area clean and trimmed. (mowing done by lawn service) 2-3 members
Sign Replacement Task team. Help plan, price and design a new entrance sign, including replacing the landscaping around it. 2 -3 members

Parking Lot Resurfacing Team: Persons to investigate options on repairing or replacing the parking lot.

Pool Committee: Persons to help maintain the Pool. The Pool Company will clean the pool weekly. But maintaining and cleaning the Pool deck and Furniture and bathrooms are up to us. 3-4 members

Horseshoe Committee: Investigate and determine if the community would like to create a league. If so, come up with a plan to draft players and advertise.

Social Committee: Additional members needed to help with this committee. This team comes up with events to better our community and , to help raise money for future events and improvements. All are welcome

Membership Committee: Members to help the Board with ideas, and to help solicit new Membership. All are welcome.

Tennis Committee: Help Tennis committee with events, organization and leagues.

Disc Golf Course is Open (for Members)

Our Homeowners Association President, Ed Stoutzenberger would like everyone to know that the Disc Golf Course, although not yet completed, is open for members!

The baskets are installed.

We have placed 2 temporary tee markers for each “hole or basket.”

Currently, the white stake is for the long tees, and the flags (various colors) are for the short tees.

Ultimately, the permanent colors will be BLUE = LONG TEE and RED = SHORT TEE (the maps are set up this way).

There are now 12 HOLES and a practice hole.

The practice hole is at the end of the parking lot, near the pool.

The first long tee (Blue Hole 1) is behind the clubhouse under the big tree.

The first short tee (Red Hole 1) is on the flat area headed toward the yellow house.

Hole layout is shown on the map.

We now have a Facebook “North Landing Disc Golf” Page - please visit: https://www.facebook.com/NorthLandingDG/

For the new or experienced Disc Golfer, North Landing is also listed in the Udisc site: https://udisc.com

Download the FREE app. You can keep score right on the app.

BASIC RULES:

(Additional rules may be added to the North Landing website at a later date).

You MUST be a member of the North Landing HOA to use the course, unless accompanied by a member.

And, you must always carry your Badge, in the event a NLHA member asks for proof of membership.

North Landing Residents WILL NOT be allowed to be GUESTS after January 1, 2020.

Members include: Full, Associate, and Disc Golf as defined by the North Landing website: www.NorthLandingHOA.com .

If you have a bad throw, DO NOT enter private property around the lake to retrieve discs.

This is considered a LOST DISC, unless the owner gives permission to enter the property. (We will install a Lost & Found box at a later date).

The Lake water is OUT OF BOUNDS!

You may retrieve a disc if it is visible, with a reach of a retriever.

We highly recommend staying clear of the water’s edge, because of snakes and turtles.

Discs that land inside the tennis courts are considered OUT OF BOUNDS.

If a match is taking place, the tennis players will return the disc at an available moment in the match.

During Tennis Matches, Disc Golfers cannot enter the court.

If there is no tennis taking place and the gate is locked, the disc will be returned to the HOA or the Lost & Found box.

All discs should have a name and phone number written on them, so they can be returned if lost.

If you find a lost disc, be respectful and return it to the owner or the North Landing HOA.

We will schedule a couple clinics for the beginners soon and will post the dates.

Fall Festivities: Children's Costume Breakfast & Plant a Tree on NOVEMBER 2nd!

With the pool season officially over, we look forward to cooler weather and fall festivities. On Saturday, November 2nd, your North Landing Social Committee will be hosting a Children’s Halloween Costume Pancake Breakfast from 9am - 11am (open to the entire community).

During that same time, the NLHA board will be giving its residents the opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime event. The association will be purchasing trees to beautify the property surrounding the lake and clubhouse. ANYONE interested in buying one of these trees, or donating a tree (or flowering bush) of their own, can do so in memory of a loved one.

ANYONE helping plant trees, in an agreed upon location (of their choice), will give said planter the opportunity to revel in the lusciousness of a North Landing Pancake Breakfast FREE of charge. So bring your own shovel, and help us continue to make North Landing BEAUTIFUL!

If you have any questions about the Children’s Halloween Costume Pancake breakfast, please feel free to reach out to Katie Phelps. If you have any questions about purchasing/planting a tree, bush, etc., please reach out to our President, Ed Stoutzenberger at northlandinghoapresident@gmail.com .

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, November 2nd!

Disc Golf Course Update

The results are in! 100% voted YES for the Disc Golf. We will be moving forward with the installation. See below for sponsorship and donation information. Our contact, Jason Cummings, asked for us to share this:

Hey folks, thanks for green-lighting the new North Landing Disc Golf Course. Now we're looking for hole sponsors and donations to get the course built.

DONATE HERE: https://fundly.com/north-landing-disc-golf

North Landing neighborhood in east Cobb GA has taken the initiative to install a disc golf course around our scenic pond.  Land is abundant and a good fit for a course, but funds are limited. North Landing Disc Golf will be a members-only private course.  Initially, it will have 11 long tees and 7 short tees.  Eventually, there will be alternate pin positions.

Once established, membership will be $50 per year.  This will give outside members a bag tag to access to the course. Funds will be used to purchase basket targets, signs, and tee pad material.  All the installation and labor will be done by local volunteers.

The initial funding of $5600 covers 12 Prodigy T2 Baskets (one of which is a practice basket) and turf pads in the long position.  The short pads are to be gravel.  If we get to the goal fast enough and there is enough interest, we'll stretch the campaign to fund turf short pads as well.
